Cover a Poster on the Poster

Here's the story: This illegal structure, roughly constructed by concrete and without foundation, used to be a store across the street. However, its existence was by no means accepted by the urban management. Therefore, a bunch of people removed it to a vacant land on the other side of the street. A year passed, it stands there still, quietly and unnoticeable. But several objects left in the house indicated someone's brief dwelling. Moreover, it was pasted all over by various kinds of ads, making it what it appears today. This story gives away a hint of violence, which is contained in the compulsory removal of the house, the brutal ads covering it, and even the rough construction of it. I was appealed by this story and wanted to show my reaction. I shot a photo of this house, then printed a pile of copies it, with which I wrapped the whole house.

What is Open Source City?
In production and development, open source as a development model promotes a universal access via a free license to a product's design or blueprint, and universal re-distribution of that design or blueprint, including subsequent improvements to it by anyone.
City as a “product” which effects everyone who lives in it a lot, how it is should never only decide by few people. It should always be “open source”.
“Open Source City” is a event encouraging people to change the city by themselves (such as build something or make a graffiti), share what they made to each other and inspire each other, so the collective intelligence can make the city better and better.
